In 1976, Vince Papale was a down-on-his-luck substitute teacher, part-time bartender, and season ticket holder for the Philadelphia Eagles, the team he’d grown up rooting for. He had always loved football, but the closest he’d ever come to playing on Sundays was in local rough touch leagues. Until fate stepped in...

Vince was thirty years old and wondering what he would do with his life, when he heard that Coach Dick Vermeil was holding open tryouts for the Eagles. He had nothing to lose, and with the coaches eyeing him, he ran an explosive 40-yard dash in just 4.5 seconds - a world-class time - and was offered a contract on the spot. But, as much as his speed, it was Vince’s heart that impressed Vermeil. But there was more to the story – Vince’s success was tempered by a complicated family life, a past that continued to haunt him, even as a hometown football hero.

At its core, Invincible is an underdog story that will inspire others to pursue their dreams, too.

How Will the World End?

Could Jesus return in your lifetime—perhaps even today? What will be happening on our planet when he comes? The book of Revelation paints a portrait of the end times that is at once fascinating, horrifying, and full of hope for those who trust in Christ.

Arguably the most mysterious and colorful book of the Bible, Revelation has captivated millions with its images of apocalyptic horsemen, demonic monsters, angelic battles, and visions of a new heaven and a new earth . . . and of the risen Jesus, revealed in both his humanity and the splendor of his divinity. As our world hurtles toward increasingly troubled and dangerous times, more than ever this ancient book speaks into our lives with words of warning and comfort.

Beautifully orchestrated and engineered using the most advanced recording technology, The End Times dramatizes the unfolding imagery of Revelation. Featuring an introduction by Tim LaHaye, author of the runaway best-selling Left Behind Series, this is more than a book of the Bible you listen to. It’s an experience that helps you enter into God’s Word . . . so God’s Word can enter into you.

'Richard Briers and Michael Hordern... sensational in the main roles.' -- Time Out

Typical. Just when Bertie thinks that God's in his heaven and all's right with the world, things start to go wrong again...

There's young Bingo Little, who's in love for the umpteenth time and needs Bertie to put in a good word for him with his uncle; Aunt Agatha, who forces Bertie to get engaged to the formidable Honoria Glossop; and the troublesome twins, Claude and Eustace, whose antics when let loose in London know no bounds.

Add to that some friction in the Wooster home over a red cummerbund, purple socks and some snazzy old Etonian spats, and poor Bertie's really in the soup...

Only one man can save the day - the inimitable Jeeves.

The perfect pairing of Michael Hordern as Jeeves and Richard Briers as Bertie ensures constant hilarity in this full-cast radio dramatisation that also includes David Jason, Pat Coombs and Miriam Margolyes.

Sian Phillips, Emma Fielding and Miriam Margolyes star in Shakespeare's comedy of men behaving badly and women doing it for themselves.

BBC radio has a unique heritage when it comes to Shakespeare. Since 1923, when the newly formed company broadcast its first full-length play, generations of actors and producers have honed and perfected the craft of making Shakespeare to be heard.

In All's Well That Ends Well, Shakespeare turns traditional fairytale on its head with the young Helena {Emma Fielding) who cures the King of France from a deadly illness and demands, as her reward, the hand of the young Count Bertram. But marriage is the last thing on badly-behaved Bertram's mind, and Helena must band together with her sisters to force him to honour his promise. The means may be devious but All's Well That Ends Well.

The play is introduced by Richard Eyre, former Director of the Royal National Theatre, with specially composed music.

Revitalised, original and comprehensive, this is Shakespeare for the new millennium.

Cornhill, March 1, 1860

"The great virtue of All Shook Up is its unfashionable insistence that music be taken seriously...

"Wall Street Journal

"Refreshing...may well appeal to both critics and defenders of pop music."

Publishers Weekly

The national debate over popular music's effect on character is both furious and confused. Conservatives complain primarily about lyrics, appealing to public decency and safety. Liberals, swift to the defense of any self-expression, simultaneously celebrate rock's liberating ethos and deny its cultural influence. Carson Holloway is out to shatter the assumptions of pop's critics and defenders alike, showing that

music is more beneficial than we think.

Plato and Aristotle, Holloway finds, were aware that music can either inflame the soul with passion or can awaken it to reason and help to cultivate temperance. What Holloway proposesa rediscovery of the musical wisdom of Plato and Aristotlewill completely change the way we think about music.

Carson Holloway is an assistant professor of political science at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the 2005-06 William E. Simon Fellow in the James Madison Program at Princeton University. His articles have appeared in the Review of Politics and Interpretation: A Journal of Political Philosophy.

Nadia May has been nominated as an AudioFile Golden Voice five years running and is a winner of fourteen AudioFile Earphones Awards. She is the co-founder of TheatreFirst, a theater company in the San Francisco Bay Area where she currently lives.

Five stories from influential women writers from the close of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century. New Zealand-born, Katherine Mansfield settled in England where she wrote a series of short stories that are widely recognised as among the finest of the 20th century for their economy, clarity, sensitivity and effect. The Garden Party is one of her most famous, while The Daughters of the Late Colonel shows how her wonderful sense of wit throws a shadow of poignance. Kate Chopin, writing in the last years of the 19th century, broke new ground with her daring view of women as individuals with human needs. Lilacs and Ma'ame Pelagie are sympathetic portraits of women with differing dilemmas. Woolf's The Mark on the Wall illustrates, in short story form, the turmoil within the stillness which became such a mark of her later novels.
